Toucans are monogamous and mate through the spring. The ladies lay two to four eggs which hatch in 15 to eighteen days. The toddlers remain in the nest for 6 to eight weeks until they mature their feathers and their trademark beak. Toucan younger attain sexual maturity at 3 to four decades of age.
